Unlawful Termination  

If you have been terminated, you are able to file a complaint that may be eligible for an appeal. To manage your case, use this portal with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB): E-Appeal and Case Management System

Virginia Employment Commission – Unemployment Insurance Program  

If you are unemployed, through no fault of your own, you may be eligible to receive temporary financial assistance through the Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) unemployment insurance program.

Apply for Benefits – Out of State List 

To apply you will need: 

  • Your social security number 
  • Name(s), Address(es), telephone number(s), and dates of employment from within the last 18 months 
  • You need this information for both in-state and out-of-state employers 
  • If applicable, name and number of local union hall that you obtain work through 
  • If not a US Citizen, Alien Registration Number 
  • You may receive payment through VA Debit Card or Direct Deposit. If you choose Direct Deposit, you will need your Routing number and Account Number

If you lost your job or have had your hours reduced within the last 6- days, you may be able to temporarily maintain your employer provided health insurance through the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA)
