The 07 Youth Civic Initiative is a congressional district initiative designed to engage high school students in commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States and commemorate the history of Virginia’s 7th district. This program will bring together a diverse group of rising 10th and 11th grade students who are interested in civic engagement, history, leadership, and community service.
Selected participants will have the opportunity to share and develop ideas for local projects, events, and initiatives to honor this historic milestone. Participants will explore ways to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary through community engagement, educational initiatives, public events, artistic expression, and service-oriented projects.
Students from all backgrounds and interests are encouraged to apply. No prior government experience is required.
This program will take place at our Woodbridge District office located at 2241D Tacketts Mill Dr Woodbridge, VA 22192. This is a 5-week long program and we will meet in person every Tuesday and Thursday, from July 2nd until August 4th. Our office hours are from 9am-5pm.
