In celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, my office’s ’07 Youth Civic Initiative invites VA-07 to share their voice through an original piece of writing. 

We welcome essays, poems, speeches, personal reflections, and other original written works that speak to how America’s history has touched your life, your family, or your community.

Submissions of 500 words or fewer are open to participants of all ages.

Three selected writers will be invited to present their work at a congressional showcase on August 6 from 4-6 pm at Colgan High School. 

Applications are due by Tuesday, August 4 at 11:59pm. Applications can be submitted HERE.
