WASHINGTON, D.C. – On the 25th anniversary of September 11, Congressman Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) honors the lives lost on that tragic day.
“Twenty-five years ago, our nation was forever changed. On September 11th, 2001, nearly 3,000 innocent people lost their lives in the deadliest terrorist attack EVER on American soil.
“Like so many Americans, the attacks of 9/11 changed the course of my life — and my service to this nation. Within a month, I was activated as a reservist in the U.S. Army.
“What followed was a chapter of service shaped by the events of that day and by a commitment to defend the country we all call home.
“On this anniversary of that horrific attack, I hope you’ll join me in honoring the lives we lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, the members of our military who answered the call, and the families and loved ones who continue to carry their memories in their hearts.
“We will never forget.”
