Washington, D.C. – Congressman Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) today released the following statement on Memorial Day 2026.
“Memorial Day is a solemn reminder that the freedoms we enjoy are only possible because of so many Americans who paid the ultimate sacrifice. As a 25-year Army veteran, I’ve stood beside brave men and women who have given everything in service to our country. Today, we honor their memory, their courage, and their commitment to the country and freedoms we love so much. With over 72,000 veterans in the Seventh District, I know many of us are mourning brothers, sisters, sons, and daughters today. I stand with you.
“As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I’m committed to ensuring that we uphold our sacred obligation to support those who serve, and to care for the families of those who have fallen. That means investing in the most lethal military this world has ever seen, strengthening veterans’ services from healthcare to job opportunities, and never forgetting the price of freedom.
“Let us carry their legacy forward with actions that protect the values they died defending.”
