Vindman Votes Against Cuts to Law Enforcement and Vets, Stands with Hard Working Families

WASHINGTON — Congressman Eugene Vindman today released the following statement after voting against Republicans’ reckless cuts to law-enforcement and veterans.

“Today, I voted no on Republican cuts because I will not support defunding the police or slashing veterans’ benefits — period. This bill threatens the health care, benefits, and resources our veterans have earned and weakens our law enforcement’s ability to keep our communities safe. That’s unacceptable.

“As a 25-year veteran, I know firsthand the sacrifices our service members and first responders make. We make a promise to those who serve — whether in uniform overseas or on the front lines in our neighborhoods.

“I refuse to let Washington’s political games put them at risk.

“Republicans continue to govern through chaos and do nothing to lower costs for families in the Seventh District and across our country. Instead of providing stability, they just signed a blank check for Trump and Musk’s world of confusion to continue. Until Speaker Johnson and the House GOP put forward a responsible plan that protects those who protect us, I will stand in opposition.”
