Vindman Votes to Protect Small Businesses After Meeting with Local Entrepreneurs in Stafford County

Washington, D.C. — Just days after touring local small businesses across Stafford County, Congressman Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) voted against three partisan measures put forward by Republicans that hurt small businesses and entrepreneurs striving to achieve the American Dream.

During his tour, Vindman met with small business owners at the Cyber Bytes Foundation, Man of War Boxing and Fitness Academy, Hair Saviours, Brickhouse Fitness, and G3 Community Services, where he heard firsthand about the challenges facing local entrepreneurs — from rising costs to staffing shortages to access to capital.

“In Stafford and across the Commonwealth, small businesses aren’t just places — they’re the heart of our communities and the backbone of our local economy. We need to make it easier for them to grow – not add onerous regulations for made up problems so far-right politicians can pander to their extreme base.” said Vindman “That’s why I opposed these political stunts that would limit access to capital, penalize local economies, and introduce unnecessary red tape.”

This week, Vindman voted against the following bills:

  • H.R. 2987: This bill restricts competition and limits access to loans which prevents small businesses from getting the capital they need to grow — including veteran owned and rural businesses in Virginia.
  • H.R. 2931: This bill would force the closure or relocation of SBA offices based on the whims of the Administration, creating uncertainty and kneecapping small businesses across the Seventh District.
  • H.R. 2966: This bill, in keeping with most Republican policies, sets a double standard for small businesses by requiring them to have ownership structures that no big business is required to follow. This hurts hardworking entrepreneurs striving for the American Dream.

In Congress, Vindman will continue fighting Republican policies that hurt our economy, local small business owners, and entrepreneurs working to achieve the American Dream.
