Washington, D.C. — Congressman Eugene Vindman (Va.-07) today celebrated that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $405,990 to Caroline County, $10,515 to Orange County and $263,534 to the City of Fredericksburg. These funds will support local Head Start programs, which provides early childhood education, nutrition, and family support services to low-income families.
“Head Start programs are a lifeline for many families across Virginia’s Seventh District, helping children enter the classroom ready to learn and giving parents access to critical support services,” said Vindman. “This funding will strengthen opportunities for local children and families in Caroline, Orange, and Fredericksburg helping ensure every child has the foundation they need to succeed.”
Head Start programs provide comprehensive early childhood education, nutrition, health, and family support services to children and families, helping prepare young learners for kindergarten and long-term academic success.
Vindman emphasized the importance of continuing to invest in programs that support working families and expand educational opportunities for children in Virginia’s Seventh District.
